Running is a great form of exercise, but it can also lead to various complaints and injuries if not done properly. Some common runner’s complaints include:

  1. Shin splints: This is a pain in the front of the lower leg, caused by the muscles and tendons around the shin bone getting overworked.
  2. Runner’s knee: This is a common condition where the kneecap (patella) becomes misaligned, causing pain and discomfort.
  3. Plantar fasciitis: This is a condition where the tissue connecting the heel bone to the toes becomes inflamed, leading to pain in the heel and bottom of the foot.
  4. IT band syndrome: This is a condition where the iliotibial (IT) band, which runs along the outside of the thigh, becomes tight and inflamed, causing pain on the outside of the knee.
  5. Stress fractures: These are small cracks in the bones caused by overuse, leading to pain and discomfort.

If you’re a runner and experiencing any of these complaints, it’s important to seek treatment from a qualified healthcare professional. At PPI, our team of experienced physiotherapists and chiropractors can help diagnose and treat your runner’s complaint, getting you back on track and pain-free.
